Choosing the Best
Lab Grown Diamonds
When selecting the best lab-grown diamond, several factors come into play to ensure you get the most value for your investment. Here's a guide to help you navigate the process:
Budget
Determine your budget beforehand. Lab-grown diamonds typically offer significant cost savings compared to mined diamonds, but prices can still vary based on size, cut, clarity, and color.
The 4 Cs of Diamonds
Consider the traditional "4 Cs" of diamond quality: Carat Weight, Cut, Clarity, Color
Diamond Shape
Select a diamond shape that matches your personal style and preferences, whether it's classic round, elegant princess, or unique cushion cut.
Certification
Ensure the diamond comes with a reputable grading certificate from a recognized gemological laboratory, such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the International Gemological Institute (IGI). This certificate provides an unbiased assessment of the diamond's quality.

Color
Color assesses the degree of absence of color in a diamond. This is due to the fact that many "colorless" or "white" diamonds inherently carry trace amounts of yellow, brown, or gray hues. The lower the presence of color in a diamond, the higher its desirability and worth. The D-to-Z scale encompasses 23 color grades, where D denotes a diamond with no discernible color and Z indicates a diamond with a "light" coloration. Diamonds exceeding the Z color grade enter the realm of fancy color diamonds, evaluated on a distinct color spectrum.

Anatomy of a Diamond

Clarity
Almost all diamonds have imperfections, known as inclusions. Clarity refers to how many blemishes and inclusions a diamond has, along with how noticeable they are. Opt for a diamond that’s eye-clean, meaning you can’t see imperfections without magnification.
Carat Weight
Carat weight is basically how much a diamond weighs. It's like measuring the size of the diamond, but in terms of its weight rather than its physical dimensions. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams, which is a tiny amount. So, the higher the carat weight, the bigger the diamond will usually be.
